I'm struggling to wrap my head around how these very oddly specific circumstances are only happening to me, so I thought it made sense to share my experience to Reddit and maybe hopefully hear back from anyone who has experienced something like this for themselves. Though I've tried to research other instances of MWB interfering with other VPNs and I'm not finding anything. I know they offer their own VPN now, so it makes this circumstance very shady. It’s one of the safest and fastest options out there. Protocols Malwarebytes Privacy VPN employs only one protocol: WireGuard.

Malwarebytes Privacy VPN uses 256-bit encryption. After maybe half an hour of investigation, we unfortunately discovered that, after turning off MWB web protection, the bypassing worked. Today I spoke to Surfshark about their whitelister, and how choosing apps to bypass VPN doesn't actually bypass the VPN. They left me with an ultimatum, Nord or MWB. So last night I contacted NordVPN after it was discovered that their Wireguard connection is, in fact, failing after 10-20 minutes due to Malwarebytes being active.
